Efforts to get the proposed Glorious Vision University (GVU) fully established have continued to gather momentum as the LAWNA Territorial Chairman, Pastor S. S. Jemigbon expressed joy at the progress of Work at the permanent site of the institution in Ogwa.
Pastor Jemigbon who led a delegation on an inspection tour of the site recently said that the progress achieved so far was marvelous in our sight. One would ordinarily not expect that we would have developed the permanent site to the level it is today; just within eight months of execution, he said on his return from the tour.
The LAWNA chairman who was full of praise to the Lord pointed out that with the level attained there is no doubt that the establishment of the University is on full course. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee, he said quoting I Chr. 29:14
He added that the authorities of the church are confident that by the time the buildings were completed, it would not be difficult to secure the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the GVU to take off.
Pastor Jemigbon commended the entire Saints of the Church for their commitment to the success of the project as reflected in their financial and moral support since the commencement of the project.
Making reference to the scripture, he said since we have laid our hands on the plow, our goal is to win the race, and see to the full take off of the Universities.
According to him, this presupposes that the Saints must not rest on their oars but continue to contribute their substances so that the projection to have the University on record time is attained.
Pastor Jemigbon said that apart from Spiritual benefits to the Saints the Lord would use the University to further propagate His gospel, and as such contributing to it should be seen as part of our reasonable work for God.
The LAWNA Chairman prayed that the Lord may prosper every hand that contributes to the work, as He has promised to use it to lift His Saints.
Pastor Jemigbon had inspected the three buildings that are under construction at the permanent site of the proposed University. These are the Senate building/Administrative block and two Academic blocks.
On his entourage were the LAWNA Administrative Secretary, Pastor G. A. Oyetunji and the Apapa Area Superintendent, Pastor David Olusegun Ajibade.
The GVU Core committee expected that the NUC team would visit as soon as the buildings are completed.
The committee is confident that the GVU approval would be secured after that visit to enable the University admit its first set of students.
They expect that enough fund would be raised to meet their projection, through the contribution of one third of the January income by all the Saints which ends this April. |
